INNOVATION IS OUR BUSINESS
Innovation is “business as usual” for Durafit. Our passion for innovation has enabled us to stay at the forefront of Diesel emissions and exhaust products.
The credit goes to our customers. The enduring relationships we’ve built keep our team of design engineers, materials experts, metallurgists, and process engineers challenged to keep inventing and keep pushing products to new levels of performance. In response to input from installation technicians, heavy-duty fleets, and our distribution partners, a comprehensive list of new parts are released every year – but only after they have been extensively tested in the lab, on the road, and in the field. That’s how we do business at Durafit.
The digital revolution has created an unprecedented level of agility that allows us to respond to customer needs faster and better. New developments in rapid prototyping that integrate computer-aided design systems with coordinate-measuring machines (CMM) enable incredibly precise dimensional measuring, and CNC pipe benders have increased new product speed-to-market.
We serve a range of markets, all with unique requirements. Yet, they have a common goal: to get the most value from their investment in our products, the value that’s measured in fitment, service life, and unmatched performance. We meet that goal with resources that spend every day researching, developing, and testing products designed for fleet vehicles, medium- to heavy-duty trucks, and even industrial applications.
VERTICALLY-INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING
Process improvement never stops. That’s why we’ve established vertically-integrated manufacturing that spans the entire value chain, so we can source, produce, test, validate, and ship products faster than competitors. Our vertically-integrated platform also allows us to quickly respond to our customers’ frequent and diverse product orders while maintaining strict quality control standards.
The manufacturing process used to make our parts is just as important. Our facilities employ advanced automation, robotics, and computer-controlled monitoring and statistical process controls as part of our quality management system. Our factories and suppliers are electronically connected for high-speed transmission of production and engineering data. The results are lower costs, improved inventory management, higher quality, and, most importantly, customer satisfaction.
Durafit Dedicated to keeping your trucks moving and protecting your bottom line.
WHY DURAFIT?
Why should I choose Durafit over other diesel particulate filter brands?
Durafit diesel particulate filters are designed to be direct replacements for parts from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), with exact fit geometry. Using OEM-grade substrates and coatings, Durafit provides performance equivalent to or better than the OEM part. In addition to complying with emissions regulations, the Durafit diesel particulate filter has demonstrated passive regeneration performance greater than some OEM products. It is more efficient, it will last longer, and if properly maintained, you will experience fewer service warnings. Durafit diesel particulate filters are designed to keep your truck in service.
DPFS AND DOCS
Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) oxidizes carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) which creates an exothermic reaction that heats the exhaust as it passes into the DPF. This elevated temperature ensures that the soot will be burned down to ash in the DPF.
What causes a DOC to fail, common failures, and types of regeneration.
FAQ's
Diesel particulate filter backpressure is an important performance characteristic. High backpressure can increase fuel consumption and shorten the life of the diesel particulate filter. The Durafit diesel particulate filter is designed to be an exact replacement to the OEM part, including backpressure. Durafit has extensively tested the Durafit in the field and in our testing laboratory to ensure that the backpressure performance is equivalent to or better than the OEM product. You can be assured of great performance on every Durafit diesel particulate filter, as we use only OEM materials in our vertically integrated manufacturing process.

Fuel and oil contain inorganic additives to help protect your engine and extend the life of the oil. During the combustion process, they are turned into ash, which collects in the diesel particulate filter over time. Unlike the black carbon and soot in the exhaust, which is reduced during the regeneration process, the ash can only be removed by a cleaning device. This requires the diesel particulate filter to be removed from the engine. The cleaning interval varies for each engine manufacturer (and sometimes between engines from the same manufacturer) and can be found in your vehicle’s service guidelines. You should follow the engine manufacturer’s recommended cleaning intervals for your Durafit diesel particulate filter just like you would for the original diesel particulate filter.
Note that the amount of ash is directly related to the amount of oil an engine consumes. High oil consumption or high hours of service means more ash in the diesel particulate filter and may require more frequent cleaning.
